The Strong Digestive

The History

A path that begins in the Dolomites of the early 1900s and reaches the present day: over a century of craftsmanship, care, and hospitality in a glass.

The Recipe

Origins

Early 1900s · The Recipe

In the Dolomites, a pharmacist sees the mountains as an open-air pharmacy. From his expertise comes a recipe: a green, essential, and bold amaro, designed to accompany meals and aid digestion. A simple and precise knowledge, passed down orally and preserved on paper.

Balsamic nuances, a balance of herbs, and respect for the raw ingredients.

Lucia

Home tradition

Mid-1900s · Lucia

The recipe is passed on to Lucia, who cannot and does not want to give up her Dolomites. Each year she returns, walks, gathers, listens. At home, she prepares the amaro according to the ancient method, delighting relatives, friends, and guests: a ritual scented with resin, flowers, and wood.

Hospitality, unhurried gestures, recognizable ingredients.

The passing on

Continuity

2000s · The passing on

In the 2000s, Lucia hands the recipe down to her grandson. Production remains artisanal: small batches, meticulous attention to the herbs, a green color that tells the story of rosemary, sage, bay leaves, and the other key ingredients. The family continues to gather around a flavor that has become memory.

A living heritage, not a relic.

The Strong Digestive

Present & Future

2025 · The Strong Digestive

In 2025, together with three friends, a decision is made: to give substance and a future to this heritage. Thus, The Strong Digestive is born, to preserve a story spanning more than a century and share it with rigor, transparency, and taste. Not an imitation of the past, but its natural continuation.

Crystallized tradition, contemporary spirit.

A path that continues

Every bottle is an invitation to conviviality. It is the mountain becoming an everyday gesture.
